About Stratford on Avon Golf Club
Stratford on Avon Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course on Tiddington Road in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, founded in 1894. The championship layout was designed by J.H. Taylor, a five-time winner of The Open, and F.G. Hawtree, and is known for the quality of its greens and its pristine condition throughout the year. Measuring 6,278 yards with a par of 72, the course is suitable for players of all abilities while remaining deceptively challenging. The club has strong historical ties to Samuel Ryder, who was Captain in 1929 and founded the Ryder Cup in 1927. The Samuel Ryder Bar houses a collection of Ryder Cup memorabilia in his honour. The club welcomes members, visitors, societies and groups, with green fees and tee booking available online. Facilities include a golf shop, a driving range, and tuition led by Head PGA Professional Julian Dodsworth and his team, who offer coaching for all abilities including a junior academy. Catering is provided by Fayreways UK Ltd, an award-winning company using locally sourced ingredients, and the clubhouse bar is managed by Shirley Hughes, who has served members for nearly twenty years. Gift vouchers are available.
