Counselling in Bloxham, near Banbury
Think Counselling offers counselling for adults and young people aged 16+, both in person at Bloxham Mill and online.
People often come to counselling when they are feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, burned out, stuck or disconnected. You may be dealing with stress, grief, difficult relationships, trauma, self-doubt, or the impact of neurodivergence, and finding it difficult to keep carrying everything on your own.
Counselling offers a space to slow things down, make sense of what is happening and begin to understand yourself more clearly. It can help you notice patterns, work through difficult feelings, feel more grounded, and find ways forward that feel more manageable.

• Anxiety and overthinking • Stress and burnout
• Low mood • Grief and loss, pet loss
• Trauma and abuse • Relationship difficulties

Professional credentials
I am an NCPS Accredited counsellor (MNCPS Acc.2983) I work within the NCPS Ethical Framework and hold professional insurance, an Enhanced DBS and ICO registration.
I have many years’ experience supporting people through difficult periods in their lives, both in private counselling and agency settings. My work is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and adapted to the individual rather than expecting everyone to work in the same way.
Outside counselling, I’ve also spent many years working in busy workplaces and supporting a family of my own. I know first-hand that life can involve juggling work, relationships, caring responsibilities, loss, change and simply trying to keep everything going at once.

Frequently asked questions
How much does counselling cost?
Standard counselling sessions are £55 for 50 minutes. I also offer a limited number of lower-cost spaces, depending on availability. These are not means-tested, and you will not be asked to provide financial information or evidence of income. I believe counselling and support for mental wellbeing should be as accessible as possible. If cost is something you’re worried about, you’re very welcome to ask what options are currently available.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults and young people aged 16+. People come to me for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, burnout, low mood, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, overwhelm and the impact of neurodivergence. You do not need to fit neatly into one category before getting in touch.
How do I book a counselling session?
You can get in touch through the Think Counselling website to arrange a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives us a chance to talk about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and make sure I’m able to offer the right kind of support. Counselling is usually weekly and can be either short-term or longer-term, depending on what you need. There is no fixed number of sessions you have to commit to at the start, and we can review together as the work develops.
What happens in the first counselling session, and what do I talk about?
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say, and you do not have to tell your whole story in the first session. We can start with whatever feels most useful or manageable at the time. There may be pauses while you think, or moments when you are not quite sure where to begin. That is completely normal. You are not expected to arrive with a clear plan or to know how counselling is “supposed” to work. My role is to help create enough space for us to explore what is going on at a pace that works for you. We can take things one step at a time and work out together what feels helpful
Why talk to a counsellor when I can talk to friends or family?
Friends and family can be an important source of support, but counselling offers something different. The time is focused entirely on you, without needing to protect someone else’s feelings, worry about being judged, or wonder whether you are saying too much. People who care about us often naturally want to help by offering advice or suggesting what we should do. Sometimes that is useful, but sometimes it can leave us feeling more confused, pressured, or unheard. There can also be things we hold back because we are worried about upsetting someone, changing how they see us, or damaging the relationship. Counselling gives you a space to explore what is happening without those same pressures. Together, we can notice patterns, make sense of difficult feelings and help you work out what feels right for you.
